Ward Hancock - Solo

Living in Darwin, Ward regularly gigs around town at venues like The Railway Club, The Ski Club, The Precinct and Free Spirit Resort. He plays mostly original music as well as covers in his three hour repertoire. With a focus on reggae, blues and folk, he uses looping to create a lush and full musical landscape, switching between lead vocal, guitar and bass.

Having played every state and territory by the age of 23, Ward has a wealth of experience playing live in an array of situations. He’s supported the likes of Josh Pyke, Sir James Morrison and The Melbourne Ska Orchestra. Likened to John Mayer, his live set moves effortlessly through genres and moods.

Rambutan Jam Band

Amassing just over ten million streams on multiple platforms and a cult following to match, Rambutan Jam Band’s astronomical success was achieved by honest songwriting and long sweeping jams. Now disbanded, the group still continues to enjoy listens from all around Australia and the world.

East Point

From the ashes of Top End group Rambutan Jam Band ascends a new musical endeavor – EAST POINT – spearheaded by RJB singer/songwriter Ward Hancock and RJB drumming powerhouse Rowan Dally.

Hancock and Dally assure that they’ll continue their intense and honest song writing style; guided by years of touring, playing national festivals and professionally working as producers and session musicians.

King River Rising

With a pumping rhythm section and wailing soloists, KING RIVER RISING seamlessly blends Reggae and Rock, just as it fuses music from the tropical north and the urban south of Australia.

Often compared to the Black Seeds, Fat Freddy’s Drop and Kingfisha, KRR have spent the past eight years honing their craft in Melbourne, backed up by manic visits to regional Victoria, East Coast tours and sell-out shows in NSW and Queensland.

  • "Ward weaves an ambient, relaxed yet radiant vibe into any surrounding – tapping into decades of motivated experience he casually crafts complex melodies like its child’s play, fashioning a venue of contented and engaged patrons who linger for more. "

  • "Ward Hancock is a dynamic and talented songwriter, musician and music facilitator. His grounded and professional approach make working with him a joy and whatever the arrangement is for the particular performance, whether solo or large-scale band, it is always a fantastic live music experience thoroughly enjoyed by all!"
